CASE #17: FAIR CHARGES IN PRIVATE PRACTICE
Copyright 2011 by Professor Omar Hasan Kasule Sr

Case #61: a Muslim private practitioner charged higher prices for non-Muslim patients

Case #62: A Muslim private practitioner had a graduated fee schedule charging rich patients higher than the poor ones.

Case #63: a practitioner who was the only doctor in the village charged prices that villagers considered exhorbitant but paid because they had no alternative. He defended himself saying that he had to pay back his medical school loans.

Case #64: One private practitioner in the village charged very low fees compared to the other 4 practitioners who said they could not charge so low because their income would fall below their expenses and they would be ruined.
